Why Math Under the Surface?
Too often, students encounter mathematics as a collection of procedures to memorize. Math Under the Surface was created to reveal the ideas beneath those procedures: the patterns, structures, and creative insights that make mathematics one of humanity's most powerful ways of understanding the world.
This student-led initiative was developed through the Davidson Young Scholars Ambassador Program and focuses on making advanced mathematical thinking accessible, exciting, and meaningful for younger students.
